Pipe Organ Control by Matters in 1986 offered its fully integrated control system for pipe organs placing the microprocessor central to the console/combination action and chamber/pipes. But many more firsts were realized: LCD for status display, user configuration, single fiber optic communication link between console and chamber, unlimited record/playback, and infinite memory levels to name but a few. Development, continuous to date 2021, maintains backward compatibility with upgrades and expanding capability, while reducing component count. This application of technology maintains full respect for the “King of Instruments”.
